Verb Tenses

Understanding and correctly using verb tenses creates consistency, maintains logic and creates reality in the sequencing of time in your words. There are three main tenses in the English language: present, past and future. From those three main tenses, many tenses are created showing occurrences at particular times. There are nine that are the most common; the simple, perfect and progressive tense for each of the three main tenses. It is important to know these nine tenses to write coherent, logical and consistent sequences of events or time references, whether they are explicit or implicit.
